THE TAKE FLIGHT (Garrett's Wings) Triathlon - Saturday, October 18th, 2008
Congrats to NOMAD's very own LANCE LEO for winning this first annual race!
You may have heard the story about Garrett Campbell and how his short life inspired the creation of Garrett’s Wings (www.garrettswings.org), a non-profit organization that creates communities of support, comfort and non-medical care for other terminally-ill children and their families while supporting and promoting research to cure Infantile NCL.
Saturday, October 18th was Garrett’s Wings first large fundraiser - The Take Flight Triathlon Festival. A sprint distance Triathlon began by swimming in the pools of NOMAD at 8:00am, with athletes biking through Highland Creek then completing the run through Skybrook.
It was a wonderful Family Fun Day planned outside NOMAD, following the race from 11:00am-4:00pm. With free entertainment, prizes, crafts, mascots, pony rides, food, etc... It was a wonderful day for a wonderful cause. Thanks so much for bringing your friends and family out to join us!
